Our Mission
Tionesta Community Association aims to foster a sense of unity within our community through engaging local events and activities to the residents of Tionesta, along with welcoming all of Forest County communities and surrounding areas.
The late Jack McMichael, was a co-founder of the TCA and largely responsible for the Indian Festival that we all enjoy today. A resident of Tionesta, Jack was an adopted member of the Seneca Nation Heron Clan, along with the Turtle Clan. The Heron Clan gave him the name Day-Gow-Wang-Gay, which means Two Canoes; the Turtle Clan gave him the name Wa Ja Da Gwe Ni Yos, which means He is a Leader. Begininng in 2022, to commemorate Jack and his great contribution to the TCA & Indian Festival, we have designed our logo after him.
